What to expect in White Beach - Moalboal, Cebu

White Beach in Moalboal isn't your first class beach. This is your entry point to Pescador Island, where you can go for snorkeling and diving.

Panagsama Beach in Moalboal, Cebu

Gera and I have been shopping for accommodations in Moalboal online, and most websites we’ve visited display pretty galleries that invigorate our excitement to swim. In contrast, the shore wasn’t similar to the galleries we’ve seen. There are plenty of cccommodations in Panagsama Beach they are close to each other so comparing them is no hassle. Rates range from 450 – 2500. The beach is small and frankly there’s not much room to swim, there are seafront accommodations but our guide mentioned that we may not be allowed to swim to the beachfront section of another resort. That is so sad because some resorts noticeably own a very small area that’s about 15 meters wide, and some are a little wider. The shore is well maintained, clean and it shares a fair portion with seagrasses.





Getting to Panagsama Beach is convenient, it is 4km from Moalboal Market on a tricycle or motorbike. Panagsama Beach is rather famous for diving and snorkeling the Pescador Island which is about 10 minutes boat drive from Panagsama Beach. Boat Transfers to Pescador Island ranges from 1500 - 3000.

Getting to Moalboal from Cebu City / Mactan Airport:

Coming from Cebu Airport, take a taxi to South Bus Terminal the fare is about 200 pesos. Coming from the Pier, the taxi costs about 80-100 pesos. At the South Bus Terminal, board the Bus plying to Moalboal the fare is 111 pesos in an airconditioned Ceres bus, you will be dropping off at the Moalboal market. The trip is about 2 hours and there's not much to see along the way. However, this may not be ideal for people who can't deal with zigzag roads, turning and twisting begin when you are about 15 km away to Moalboal.

There are two popular beaches at Moalboal - Panagsama Beach and White Beach. Panagsama beach is 4km from the market, White Beach is 9km away from the market. How to get to the beach: Whether you are going to Panagsama or White Beach you'll have to take a tricyle or a single motorbike from the Moalboal . From Moalboal market, the regular fare is 25 per person to Panagsama, about 40-50 pesos to White Beach. If you seem to be a tourist, you'll be charged for more. You can also hire the tricyle for 100 pesos to Panagsama and about 150 pesos to White Beach. But for tourists, drivers may charge between 200-500. The same kind of rate we refused.
