Manila to Laoag Bus Service by GV Florida Bus Transport

Due to an unexpected change in our flight schedule (Laoag to Manila) with CebuPacific, we had to take another transport that won't cost us a fortune. We ended up taking the 12-hour land trip through GV Bus Transport.

In Laoag we stayed at Pagudpod Beach, from the beach we hired a tricycle to take us to the bus terminal which was just located nearby about 500 meters from the beach.

Pagudpud to Manila Fare

The fare was nearly 500 pesos, I think this year it has gone to P650. The bus has a portable toilet at the rear end and air-conditioning that works perfect.

Traffic started when we were in Cavite and gotten worst upon approaching Manila, the supposed to be 12 hour trip lasted 13 hours. We departed 8PM from Pagudpud. Kudos to the driver of GV Florida Bus he drove perfectly and safely.

Tip:

If you are not used to very long land trips, it could turn out to be a disaster - I would suggest you take Meclizine meds. These medicines are anti-emetics (medications that prevent nausea and vomiting). Take medicines like Bonamine, DiziTab, and others as long as they are Meclizine.

It was my first to take a trip this long, so I thought it was a good idea to deprive myself from rest the night before the trip so I can endlessly sleep in the Bus and wake up upon reaching Manila. I just made it worst, I got the usual nausea and it kept me awake all night.

G.V. Florida is named after the founder George Florida and Virgilio Florida Jr.
Other than Manila to Laoag. The bus also services Manila-Tuguegarao routes.

Special thanks to Mary Ann Paraiso Santos of Polaris for the accommodation and the great tips!

Take the GV Florida Sleeper Bus, they say.

I've come across the page of GV Florida on Foursquare and many travelers are recommending the Sleeper Bus, as you will see on the screenshot below:

A good shot of what's inside the GV Florida Sleeper Bus. I got this photo from Api III =) on Flickriver

Whether you take the regular bus or the sleeper bus...
We wish you a safe trip!

  1. ILOCANA AKO! I and my family patronage your transportation, because accessible to our place, convenient and friendly drivers and conductors and staff.
-Subalit may mga telepono kayo nga nakapaskil o na-advertise pero not- in-service or just ringing. According to your staff hindi talaga gumagana. NOT even one of your staff can give a telephone line or cell phone line that is working.
